Henkjan Gersen, PhD (Netherlands)
- Background: single molecule spectroscopy, photonic crystals
- Project: Modify Aarhus STM to allow photon irradiation via optical fiber, photo physics on adsorbed molecules

Carsten Busse, PhD (Germany)

- Project: Molecular self-assembly and organic reactions on surfaces

Sami Paavilainen, PhD (Tampere, Finland)
- Background: Tight-binding calculations and STM simulations of adsorbates on metal substrates
- Project: Density functional calculations of adsorbates on thin insulating films, inelastic tunneling from vibrations
