Background

The industry will remain a fiercely competitive business in the foreseeable future due to business conditions of over-capacity and the law of supply and demand. To meet demands, automobiles will have to be technically advanced, aesthetically pleasing, socially responsible and functional.

Balancing different interests and working in multidisciplinary teams is crucial for the success of the industry. There is therefore a need for new design professionals with a holistic perspective and understanding of the development process.

Entrance prerequisites

Applicants must hold a Bachelor´s degree, or the equivalent, in science or engineering (BSc or BEng). Information regarding prerequisites for students from non-Swedish universities including language requirements can be obtained under general information for international master´s programmes from the website www.chalmers.se

20 students will be accepted each year. Acceptance will be based on the application and submitted work samples. The submitted work samples must include the student´s own five free drawings, paintings or photographs of sculptures or models. These free-work samples should give a picture of the applicant´s artistic abilities and development possibilities. A selection will then be made where half of the available places will be filled based mainly on student grades and half mainly on student work samples.
