In the present, from a number of 7 different groups only 5 are still active. The leaders and the main activities of these groups are presented below.

Connection between the groups

Groups involved in the consortium:

  • Atomic Physics, Prof. Eleanor Campbell,GU/CTH (Leader)- Production of nanotubes,controlled integration into nanocircuits, manipulation and scanning probe studies. Controlled nanotube growth using CVD techniques in gas phase and supported catalyst techniques;

  • Molecular Physics, Prof. Arne Rosen GU/CTH - Molecular dynamics and QM/MM simulations of carbon nanotube growth and collisional dynamics between gas molecules and carbon nanotubes. Electronic structure calculations of carbon nanotube derivatisation and carbon nanotube - metal electrode linkages;

  • Microscopy and Microanalysis, Dr. Lena Falk GU/CTH - Electron microscopy and nanometer-resolved and coordination distribution images, EELS;

  • Applied Physics-Condensed Matter Theory, Dr. Jari KinaretGU/CTH -Theoretical analysis of electrical and thermal transport properties of carbon nanotubes. Exploration of the joint effects of quantum mechanical interference and electron-electron interactions in finite nanotubes, nanorrelay applications;

  • Organic Chemistry, Dr. Helena Grennberg UU -Purification (LC) and chemical derivatisation of carbon materials. Spectroscopical analysis: NMR, FT-IR, UV-vis, electrochemistry and photo electrochemistry;
