At atomic theory we are interested in the fundamental
structure of the atomic systems. Our main research is focused on high accuracy
calculations of different properties, like energy splittings and
gj factors, of atomic systems.
The projects we are working with at the moment are
the possibility to merge quantum electrodynamic, QED, with relativistic
many-body perturbation theory, RMBPT, for helium-like systems;
locality in density-functional theory;
Other areas of interest to the group include
QED effects in one- and two-electron highly charged ions;
atomic many-boby calculations;
parity non-conservation;
nuclear-structure effects in atomic spectra;
One of the members of our group, Ann-Marie Pendrill, is also involved in
the field of learning and teaching physics. One of the major
cornerstones in that research is
"Physics at Liseberg",
where students use the amusement park in Göteborg during one day as a
laboratory to discover and learn about different physical phenomena.
